SOE KMDB is well known for its developments in the area of armoured vehicles. This year the enterprise will celebrate its 80th anniversary. During these years, the enterprise managed to create world-known vehicles – T-34, T-54, T-64, T-80UD, etc. The fame of the SOE KMDB-developed vehicles (including T-34, T54, T64, T-80UD, etc.) seems to have gone far beyond the fame of its designers. Now this disparity is to be rectified.
Nowadays the product range of the SOE KMDB includes armoured vehicles of various types - Dozor-B (4 x 4) and BTR-4 (8 x 8) armoured personnel carriers, Oplot and Yatagan main battle tanks, heavy infantry fighting vehicles, armoured repair and recovery vehicles, etc. The enterprise also designs and produces a number of remote-controlled weapon stations that are fitted with armament with calibre of 12.7 to 30 mm, anti-tank guided missiles, and grenade launchers (various options are available). Besides, the Design Bureau has a wide experience in upgrading armoured vehicles as well as developing and producing various training aids (computer-based training simulators and operating models).
In opinion of the SOE KMDB's specialists, the possibility of working with foreign partners directly will make it possible to quickly react to the changes in the market and to inform the potential customers about the latest technical achievements of the enterprise.
This move will be a good stimulus for the further development of the armoured vehicle development and production in Ukraine. About KMDB: The Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB) is a state-owned enterprise, which is now Ukraine's leading design authority for armoured fighting vehicles and used to play a key role in the development of armoured tracked vehicles in the former Soviet Union. The contemporary activities of the KMDB are distinguished by three main factors: - the ability to offer customers a wide range of armoured vehicles and other products for both military and civil use, as well as obsolete vehicle upgrade packages
- the provision of equipment closely tailored to customer's individual requirements
- the availability of long-term support for the end user
