The State-owned Enterprise Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau has developed a modernisation package for M60A3 battle tanks.
The purpose of modernisation consists in ensuring further use of these tanks and extension of their service life by 15-20 years, with simultaneous increase of their combat efficiency up to the level of modern tanks.
The modernisation package envisages use of up-to-date technical solutions, technologies and series-produced units and systems.
This modernisation package has been developed with taking into consideration the optimum ratio between the cost of modernisation and the combat efficiency of M60A3 tanks.
The upgraded tank has technical characteristics comparable to those of the up-to-date battle tanks.
The modernisation package aims at increasing the characteristics of the vehicle in three key areas: firepower, mobility and protection. In so doing, the following is used:
The M60A3 tank can be upgraded either in all three above-mentioned key areas or in particular areas depending on Customer’s requirements.
