This was the first tank to be developed by the designers of the Kharkiv
Locomotive Plant on their own building on the experience gained during the manufacture and trials of the
T-12 tank. After having been subjected to trials, the tank was accepted for service and manufactured in small
numbers. The T-24 was used by the training tank units of the Red Army. Total production of the T-24 was 25 vehicles.
